Speech Groups

At Thrive + Conquer Pediatric Therapy, we understand that children often learn best from their peers.
To foster this, we offer specialized peer-driven speech therapy groups where children can engage in a supportive, interactive environment. These groups allow children to practice and develop essential communication skills alongside their peers, building confidence and social connections while enhancing their speech and language abilities.

what groups do you offer?

Our speech therapy groups are designed to meet the unique needs of each child, whether it's through play-based activities, group discussions, or structured exercises, these sessions encourage children to practice their skills in real-world settings, leading to more natural learning and growth.  The following speech therapy groups are offered at Thrive + Conquer Pediatric Therapy:

 

Articulation Therapy Groups:

  • Focus: This type of group targets individuals who have trouble pronouncing words correctly. It’s commonly used for children with speech sound disorder who have difficulty pronouncing certain sounds.
  • Goal: To help patient's practice accurate sound production in a structured environment

Language Therapy Groups:

  • Focus: These groups are for individuals who have difficulty understanding or using language, including expressive language (speaking) and receptive language (understanding).
  • Goal: To enhance vocabulary, sentence structure, and overall language comprehension.

Pragmatic Language Groups:

  • Focus: These groups are geared toward individuals with social communication challenges, 
  • Goal: To improve social interaction, conversational skills, and nonverbal communication.

Play Groups

  • Focus:  These groups are for children aged 2-5 years old where they can develop essential social and emotional skills.
  • Goal:  To improve social and emotional skills, such as, turn taking, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, sharing and cooperative play.

Social Interaction: Children improve their communication skills while interacting with others.

Peer Motivation: The presence of peers encourages engagement and a sense of camaraderie.

Practical Experience: Children get to practice in a dynamic, real-world environment.

Fun & Engaging: Group therapy is often more enjoyable, making it easier for children to stay motivated and learn effectively.


These group sessions are a fantastic complement to one-on-one therapy, helping children apply their skills in diverse social contexts.
